These are just an example of the many, MANY recipes that you can make for catfishing. (occasional carp will be caught as well)
Catfish & Carp Corn Bait
~~Can of whole corn
*Drain the can of corn, leaving only a small amount of the liquid
*Add enough of the vanilla to the can to make the corn turn a slight brownish color
*Combine corn & liquids and allow some time for the vanilla to be absorbed
~~Put 4 - 5 pieces of corn on your hook and FISH ON
3 Cup Dough Bait
~1 cup flour
~1 cup corn meal
~1 cup water
~Vanilla extract (use your sense of smell for the amount)
*Combine Flour & Corn Meal into a bowl
*Bring the water to a boil and add your Vanilla
*Add Flour & Corn Meal to the boiling water. Stir until combined well and remove from heat.
*Allow to cool until you can knead and mush the mixture enough till it will stick to your hook.
*After it cools you can put it in ziplock baggie or other container of your choice.
1 Bowl Dough Bait
~5 cups of crushed corn flakes
~1/4 cup vanilla abstract
~1 Cup of any strawberry Soda
*Combine everything into a large bowl
*Microwave for 5 - 6 minutes
*If dough isnt firm enough, add more crushed corn flakes
MEGA Stink Bait
~1 pint of milk
~1/2 pound limburger cheese, melted
~2 tablespoons of molasses
*In large pan melt the cheese
*Add Milk & molasses, stir to combine
*Next add oatmeal, small amounts at a time, allowing absorption time for the oats. Continue adding oats until the dough is firm enough to remain on your hook
J-E-L-L-O Dough for Catfish
~1 tbsp. vanilla
~2 tbsp. sugar
~1 small pkg. strawberry Jell-O
~1 pint water
~1 cup flour
2 cups cornmeal
*Boil the vanilla, sugar & Jell-O in the one pint of water.
*In seperate bowl, mix the flour & corn meal. *Add the dry ingrediants to your boiling liquids.
*Stir for two minutes
*Remove from the heat
You can store doughball in a plastic bag in your fridge. Just pinch off the amount you need for your fishing trip.
